Band ini terkenal dengan aktivitas politik sayap kirinya. Anti-Flag dikenal juga karena advokasi mereka terhadap kelompok aksi politik progresif seperti Greenpeace dan Amnesty International, dan gerakan Occupy.
Semua anggota band adalah vegan, dan sangat mendukung hak-hak hewan. Mereka sering ditampilkan oleh PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), dan muncul di album kompilasi "Fat Wreck Chords" "Liberation: Songs to Benefit PETA".
The "Gun Star" adalah simbol yang dirancang oleh gitaris Chris Head. Ini pertama kali digunakan pada sampul album Mobilize, yang kemudian digunakan pada merchandize. Lambang ini terdiri dari lima senapan M16 yang patah dalam bentuk bentuk bintang.
