Reinventing the Steel mencapai nomor 4 di tangga lagu Billboard 200, bertahan selama lebih dari 12 minggu. Lagu kelima album, "Revolution Is My Name", mencapai nomor 28 di Mainstream Rock Tracks Billboard.
Album ini menduduki peringkat No. 2 di Guitar World's Readers Poll untuk "The Top 10 Guitar Albums of 2000".
