Quadrophenia adalah satu-satunya album Who yang seluruhnya dibuat oleh Pete Townshend.
Quadrophenia dirilis dengan sambutan positif di Inggris dan Amerika Serikat. Album ini memberikan dampak positif pada gerakan kebangkitan mod di akhir 1970-an, dan adaptasi film 1979 berhasil dengan sukses.
Album ini telah diterbitkan ulang dalam bentuk CD beberapa kali, dan terlihat sejumlah remix yang memperbaiki beberapa kekurangan yang dirasakan pada aslinya.
